Historique: Louis de Bourbon
Born in 1438 by Charles the First Duke of Bourbon and Agnes of Burgundy, daughter of Jean sans peur. He is therefore the cousin of the King of France, Louis XI, and the nephew of the Duke of Burgundy, Philip le bon. Despite the rules of the chapter, he was elected to the bishopric of Liège by Pope Calixtus III on 30 March 1456. He was consecrated to Huy on 20 July 1466. This clumsy and greedy despot urged the people of Liège to revolt and Was deposited on March 22, 1465. The armies of Philip le bon defeated the militia of Liege at Montenaken. The duke received the keys of the city and restored Louis de Bourbon in his functions. There are other revolts, Charles le téméraire will succeed Philip le bon. The France of Louis XI and Burgundy negotiated a treaty of Peace at Péronne and the two monarchs bind to subdue the revolt of the Liège rebels. On the night of 29th to 30th October 1468, the Liégeois under the orders of Vincent de Bueren tried to deliver the city with 600 volunteers from Franchimont. The country of Liège becomes vassal of the Duke of Burgundy, the liberties are abolished and the perron, symbol of liberties is transferred to Bruges. Later, Louis de Bourbon re-established the old privileges of the city. Louis de Bourbon was killed August 30, 1482 during a fight with Guillaume de la Marck which seeks the principality.
